A new study from Feeding America shows that 17% of Missourians are food insecure, which equals over 1 million people. The Map the Meal Gap shows hunger data by state and county. Some other findings from this new data:

45% of food insecure Missourians don't qualify for federal assistance programs

Over 22% of Missouri children live in food insecure households

St. Louis City has the highest rate of food insecurity (27.3%), followed by Pemiscot County (23.9%)

The average cost for a meal in MO is $2.45
