Missouri Farm Bureau Insurance (MOFBI) is once again stepping up to the plate and teaming up with the Feeding Missouri network to address hunger across the state. For the ninth consecutive year, from April 3, 2024, to April 30, 2024, insurance agents, producers, customer service representatives, regional coordinators, and numerous volunteers will gather donations at office locations statewide. The 2024 Home Run Against Hunger campaign, a pivotal initiative by Missouri Farm Bureau Insurance, aims to provide much-needed assistance to families in need.
In Missouri, the reality is harsh, with one out of every eight children unsure when they’ll have their next meal. However, with the community’s support, there is hope. Missouri’s food banks are tirelessly working to aid families in distress, yet the magnitude of need surpasses their current capacities. A modest donation of $25 has the power to supply up to 100 meals for individuals and families facing hunger.
The campaign emphasizes the importance of community involvement in combating hunger. Essential donation items include canned meat, fruits, and vegetables, beans, rice, cereal, peanut butter, soups, and pasta. Contributions, whether food or financial, can be made at any local county office from April 3, 2024, to April 30, 2024. Donors can also support the cause by texting “MOFB2024” to 44-321. It’s crucial to note that all donations will directly benefit local communities.
As the campaign concludes, each MOFBI office will allocate the collected donations to a nearby pantry or food bank. A comprehensive announcement will reveal the total donations, both in pounds and monetary contributions. The previous year’s campaign was a significant success, amassing nearly 4.4 tons of food and over $16,100 in donations.
