Columbia, MO – Feeding Missouri is excited to announce the appointment of Leigh Anne Haun as the new Executive Director, effective June 16th. Haun brings a wealth of experience to the organization, which represents the largest charitable response to hunger in Missouri. Her extensive background in policy advocacy, project management, and community engagement will be instrumental in supporting food banks in their vision to create a well-nourished and hunger-free Missouri.
For the past several years, Haun has held various leadership roles, most recently as the Director of Policy Advocacy for the Missouri Developmental Disabilities Council. With a proven track record of enhancing programs and securing funding, she is well-prepared to elevate Feeding Missouri’s initiatives. Her focus will be on ensuring that support for our food banks and the neighbors they serve remains strong and responsive.
“Leigh Anne’s passion for strengthening communities and her experience in relationship building and advocacy make her a strong asset for Missouri’s food banks during a time of much uncertainty and escalating food insecurity,” said Joey Keys, President of the Feeding Missouri Board and CEO of Southeast Missouri Food Bank. “We are confident that she can continue strengthening our partnerships throughout the state and leading our mission forward.”
Haun’s focus will include expanding collaborative efforts, enhancing fundraising and advocacy initiatives, and mobilizing resources to address the urgent needs of neighbors experiencing food insecurity. Her innovative thinking and strategic approach will be crucial as Feeding Missouri continues to tackle ongoing challenges and transform hunger into hope.
“I am honored to join Feeding Missouri and lead this important work,” Haun said. “Together with our partners, we can ensure that no one in our state has to wonder where they will get their next meal. I look forward to working collaboratively with the six food banks and their statewide partners.”
